Our Rock Installation Process

Proper preparation is important when installing decorative stone. Before placing the rock, the area is typically cleared of weeds and debris so the ground surface is clean and level.

Once the area is prepared, rock is evenly distributed across the landscape beds to create consistent coverage and a finished appearance. Installing the correct depth of stone helps ensure the rock stays in place and performs well over time.

Decorative Rock Works Best in Certain Areas of the Landscape

Decorative rock can be a great solution in areas where durability or drainage is important. River rock or river cobble are often used in drainage zones or decorative areas of the landscape where water needs to move freely.

However, rock is not always ideal for every planting bed. In areas that receive intense sun, stone can absorb heat and raise temperatures around plant roots or foliage, which may stress or damage certain plants. Because of this, rock is often best used in drainage areas or decorative sections of the landscape rather than heavily planted garden beds.
